Low in Fat, High in Flavor- Kama's Stuffed Peppers

WOW - Stuffed peppers are amazingly Yummy! PLUS- They are super healthy and  packed with lean protein and plenty of fiber. 

Save yourself the hassle of making a difficult meal, and try Kickstart's Low Fat Stuffed Peppers. With only 400 calories per serving, this is a recipe that will be a household favorite.
Begin by gathering the following ingredients to make a meal for four.

To begin, bring a large pot of water (4-5 cups) to a boil. Cook 4 medium sized green peppers (seeds removed) in boiling water for 5 minutes, adding a dash of salt to water. 

Drain, and set peppers aside. 


In a large skillet, saute 1/2 of a medium, chopped onion with 1 pound of lean, ground turkey and onions for 5 minutes - until meat is no longer pink.

 Drain off the excess fat, and season with 1 teaspoon of black ground pepper and a dash of salt. Stir in 1 can (14.5 ounces) of Organic Peeled Tomatoes , 1/3 cup of cooked brown rice, 1/2 cup of water and - 3/4 teaspoon Low Sodium Soy Sauce

Cover skillet and allow to simmer for 25 minutes, making sure rice is tender. Remove from heat.

Set oven to 350 degrees. Stuff each pepper with turkey and rice mixture, and place peppers open side up in a baking dish. Pour 1 large can of Organic Tomato sauce, low sodium over peppers as a sauce. 

Sprinkle cheese on top, if you want!

 Cover and bake for 30 minutes.
