Teriyaki and Mango Salmon Burgers

If you know anything about me, you know that I'm not the biggest fish fan.

Yes, I know it's healthy and loaded with good protein and fats. It should be a staple in the clean eating diet, and especially for active lifestyles.
I simply can'y get myself to like it.

I have tried to come up with creative ways to disguise the fishy taste that I'm not so fond of. My favorites, found on my blog, include tilapia baked in lemon and herbs or tuna mixed with avocado,  pesto or greek yogurt.
Teriyaki and Mango salmon burgers are definitely my next favorite fish meal.

Begin with a resealable bag, placing thawed salmon inside with 2 tablespoons low-sodium teriyaki sauce or Bragg's Liquid Aminos and dash of garlic powder. Allow to soak  in the fridge. Remove after 1 hour. Mold salmon by hand into patties about 3 inches in diameter.
In a nonstick skillet, cook patties 10 minutes over medium heat, turning once, until cooked thoroughly OR bake in oven on baking sheet at 400*, 7-8 minutes each side. (Flip patties after 8 minutes, then cook for another 8).
Serve warm on whole wheat bun, or with a side salad. Cover with lettuce and mango - pineapple works great, too!
