Booty Barre with Strength in Balance NH

So, I feel kind of out of the loop. 

I began my fitness career almost ten years ago (YIKES- getting old!) with Pilates and Yoga. I always loved these two workouts, and when I first created Kickstart it was primarily based on training others using primarily movements from them. Heck, I taught Pilates classes at my college to rooms packed with 50-60 people. I remember the good old days when I walked around campus with people yelling, "HEY! It's the Pilates girl!" 

You can see why I was a little embarrassed that I had never heard of one of the BIGGEST fitness classes right now - Booty Barre. It's a fusion of Yoga, Pilates and dance. 

Right up my alley. 

When I heard about this class, I knew I had to try it out. Becki Somers is the brains behind this operation as she stands alone as the ONLY instructor offering Barre Fitness Classes in New Hampshire. 

As you can see, her studio offers an intense workout inspired by ballet dance moves and focus on the abdominal muscles. The 60 minute class literally flies by as you work every muscle using 2 light weights, a small bender ball, yoga mat, ballet barre, and stretchy bands. The music is upbeat and fun, helping to take away from the pain-factor that Booty Barre can induce :) 

The best thing about Becki's program is that the classes are NEVER  the same - Becki adds in lots of variety, and always keeps her clients challenged. Plus- there's different kinds of Barre workouts - from cardio based Ballerobica, to Booty Barre, to Barre Toning. Becki teaches all of these classes 7 days a week in a charming millyard studio overlooking downtown Nashua, New Hampshire. 

The studio space is HUGE and offers the rustic elements of high ceilings, exposed beams, and tall windows that give you a view while you work your booty at the barre. 

Nicole stretched it out as she enjoyed the view herself :) 

If you haven't tried a Booty Barre class before - it is definitely worth checking out. Becki offers your first class free of charge at her Nashua studio. Bring a few girl friends and get ready to feel the burn in every muscle.
