Designing a Smart Workout Plan









I often hear people say they "need to lift more," or "I need to stretch more," "go running more often," "try out a Yoga class".... you get the idea. 

The problem is that many people don't LOVE their workout plans. 

So, what do you do? Having a workout plan that you LOVE is basically a combination of doing workouts that you enjoy (or just tolerate :) together with a goal in mind. 

If you need more flexibility and strength, then you can lift weights a few times a week with a couple of Yoga classes. Hate Yoga? Then switch it out for Pilates. Or Aerial Yoga. Or pole dancing.  Barre Fitness classes are also popular, too. Whatever gets you stretched out with benefits of you actually enjoying yourself. 

If you need more cardio in your life, running for 30 minutes a day isn't necessarily the only answer. Have you tried Interval Running? HIIT cardio? A Zumba class? 

The overall formula here is HAPPY + HEALTHY = LIFESTYLE. 

 Workout in a way that makes you Happy, keeps you Healthy, and then it will become your Lifestyle. Got it?

One Last Thought: Keep in mind your interests will change. Change your workouts accordingly. I used to LOVE weight training and running. Now, I do them occasionally with more Yoga and Acro classes, instead. I now teach Aerial Yoga and Inversion classes in my home studio, and it's SO much fun! 

Don't be afraid to try different workouts - it's always a good idea to switch things up!
